Research and writing: Has extensively researched and written in the field of environment, human rights, national elections, forestry, journalistic writing, anthropology, sociology, etc. Offers consultancies in these areas.

Reporting: Has extensively reported on environment, human rights abuses, peoples (ethnic communities, tea workers, different excluded communities, elections, Phulbari Coalmine, industrial pollution, etc. and has published hundreds of reports and features. Photography: Has extensively photographed people, particularly indigenous or ethnic communities and tea workers (there are as many as 110 ethnic communities, all photographed); different occupational groups such as Bedes, sex workers, pig rearing community in field, Harijans or sweepers, Jaladas (a fishing community in Chittagong Cox’s Bazar who fish in the sea), etc. and environment. Photography exhibitions: Has organized six photography exhibitions on forest, forest peoples, indigenous peoples and culture, Phulbari Coalmine, and tea workers.

Documentary film making: Has directed seven documentary films and has written screen-plays for those. Offers guidance in making documentary films.

Teaching: Adjunct faculty at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). Teaches reporting on environment, environmental communication and advanced reporting. Has trained nearly 1200 working journalists on reporting environment, human rights, forestry, elections, ethnic communities, tea workers, excluded communities and reporting in general.
